Growatt New Energy Australia Pty Ltd, GoodWe Australia Pty Ltd and Jinko Solar Holdings Co. Pty Ltd inverters recall notice issued by ACCC since 17 November 2023.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) have issued 3 product recall notices since 17 November 2023. See notices for Growatt New Energy Australia Pty Ltd, GoodWe Australia Pty Ltd and Jinko Solar Holdings Co. Pty Ltd inverters.

To be eligible to claim small-scale technology certificates (STCs), a small generation unit (SGU) must meet the requirements under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 and Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001. Under regulation 20AC(9)(d), an inverter model is deemed eligible if section 128 of the Australian Consumer Law (voluntary recall of consumer goods) does not apply. If a recalled inverter is repaired, as detailed in the recall notice, the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) may consider it eligible for STCs.

If your applications are affected by the recall please:

1. Contact the supplier or manufacturer directly for repair guidance.
2. If repairs have occurred, inform the manufacturer to update the rectified serials with the CER for processing.
