You Must "Complete" Battery Installations No Later than 30 April 2026
Dear Retailers and Installers,
The STC battery rebate will drop from 1 May 2026.
If you want to keep your jobs eligible for the current rebate level, you must ensure all battery installations are completed on or before 30 April 2026.
“Completed” means testing and commissioning has been fully finished.
Date of completion is based on:
Installer’s on-site verification (IOV)
The timestamp on the end-selfie
This timestamp must be the time recorded in the photo's metadata; will be insufficient if only a watermark
This timestamp is automatically recorded and non-editable
Certificate of Electrical Safety
The testing and commissioning date shown on the certificate
If you cannot provide an end-selfie to prove the job was completed on or before 30 April 2026, the job may receive fewer STCs.
The end-selfie you provide must itself be compliant. For example:
Its background must include the battery which is being tested and commissioned
Its geotag must indicate GPS coordinates not away from the installation address
This geotag must be the GPS coordinates recorded in the photo's metadata; will be insufficient if only a watermark
This geotag is automatically recorded and non-editable
To avoid any drama:
Retailers: Plan your job schedule early and confirm stock and delivery with your suppliers
Installers: Double-check your schedule and travel plans to make sure all jobs can be finished on time
Please plan ahead to avoid any impact on your STC claims.
